Theta Chapter was established on December 6, 1997 by five strong women who strove for a sense of unity and Hermandad. Although these women were leaders within the Latino undergraduate student group on campus, they wanted to be part of an organization that would embody their ideals and meet their needs as women, especially as Latinas. For these reasons, they sought out an organization that met their desires to uplift the Latino community as well as themselves.

Through community service, the promotion of the Latino culture and Hermandad, Las Hermanas of Theta Chapter hope to continue to carry out the ideals set forth by their founders of uniting other women on their campus for years to come.
