Since 1999, Massachusetts Hermanas have continued to foster the Sorority’s ideal of Hermandad by building upon the relationships they established as undergraduates. For years, these women have reached out to and embraced Hermanas who moved to Massachusetts and other New England states for personal, educational, and professional reasons.

In the Summer of 2008, Carla Reeves joined the growing number of Massachusetts Hermanas who shared the vision of developing a supportive network for members of the Sorority who lived in or visited the area. Three years later, through the efforts of Daniela Trammell, Carla Reeves, Nashalie Vazquez, Sarayfah Bolling and Christina Jusino, the Pi Theta Professional/Graduate Chapter of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. was established in Boston, MA. Pi Theta Chapter was created to provide current and future professional and graduate Hermanas with an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the diverse communities within Massachusetts through programming, community service, mentorship, and networking.

The goals of Pi Theta Chapter are:

  • To promote the ideals of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc.
  • To ensure that our Hermandad transcends the undergraduate experience by supporting our members through all phases of their lives
  • To provide meaningful mentorship and community service to underrepresented communities within Massachusetts
  • To provide guidance and networking opportunities for undergraduate and professional/graduate women in Massachusetts.

The Founders of Pi Theta Chapter are dedicated Hermanas who are truly committed to the vision, mission and goals of the Sorority. The establishment of Pi Theta Chapter speaks as a true testament to the strength of Lambda Pi Chi’s lifetime commitment to empowering ourselves and others while continuing to strengthen our bonds in the spirit of Hermandad.

Pi Theta welcomed its first Intake Class in Fall 2017 with the initiation of Ysamar Garcia, Marcy Regalado, and Jacquelyn Kay Bertman.
