Anti-Hazing & Anti-Discrimination Policy

No Chapter or subentity of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. shall adopt a policy that is in conflct with the national policies and laws of the Sorority, its university policies, or the policites of its university's governing Greek council.

1. Hazing:

  1. Hazing is against the Sorority's policy and is not permitted
  2. Hazing is "any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off sorority/university premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarassment, harrassment or ridicule. Such activities and situations include creation of excessive fatigue, physical and psychological shocks; wearing publicly, apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and jokes; morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; late night sessions which interfere with scholastic activities; and any other activities which are not consistent with the regulations and policies of the educational insitution".
  3. Violations of this policy subjects the chapter to national supervision and the violater(s) to dismissal.

2. Human Dignity:

  1. All members of the Sorority should have a positive influence in the direction and achievements of the university community. All sorority activities should promote self-worth, human dignity and a positive Greek image. The Sorority prohibits the sponsoring of, or participating in, any activities including competitive games that are destructive, demeaning, abusive, which promote divisiveness or promote a negative image of the Greek community and the Sorority as a whole.

3. Anti-Discrimination:

Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. is committed to an anti-discrimination policy in its selection of members. The Sorority is exclusive to women, but it is consciously and proactively inclusive of racial identity, ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, age, socioeconomic status, marital status, language, physical and mental disability, and immigration status.
