Gabby Oberti Hermana Professional Development Scholarship

Proyecto HACER: The Gabby Oberti Hermana Professional Development Scholarship

Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. is proud to promote academic excellence throughout a lifetime of learning. This scholarship was created in the memory of our Hermana Gabrielle "Gabby" Oberti, (August 30 1989 - February 13, 2014), to encourage and support our Hermanas in pursuit of advanced degrees and licensures.

Gabby became a member of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. in the Spring of 2010 through our Lambda Chapter while she was a student at Rochester Institute of Technology.  Upon graduation, Gabby began her career as a graphic design artist at Beth Singer Design in Arlington, VA.  She worked hard and consistently towards achieving her professional goals and she showed tremendous dedication and loyalty towards everyone that she loved, especially her family and Hermanas.  Gabby’s life was cut short by a tragic car accident on February 13, 2014. Gabby was known for her brilliant smile and contagious laughter.  Gabby did not believe in complacency and lived her life pursuing every new and exciting opportunity.  She continues to inspire all who knew her.

This Professional Development Scholarship will award $1,000 annually to an active Hermana of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. who is pursuing a graduate degree or certificate program. This scholarship is part of the Sorority’s philanthropy Proyecto H.A.C.E.R. initiative.
