EMMY AWARD-WINNING JOURNALIST AND AUTHOR ANNOUNCED AS KEYNOTE SPEAKER
FOR LAMBDA PI CHI SORORITY’S 2011 NATIONAL CONVENTION
New York, NY-
Award winning journalist and author Sandra Guzman will be the headline keynote
speaker at the 2011 National Convention of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad
/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc., taking place August 5-7, 2011 in Boston, MA.

Sandra Guzman as the keynote speaker for this year’s National Convention. As a national organization that strives to promote
the Latino culture and empower women across the United States, she will serve
as a great source of inspiration to all our members,” said Maria L. Diaz,
National President of Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. "Through her many
professional and personal accomplishments, she has become a leader and a role
model for Latinas across the country, and we are honored to have her share
these experiences with Lambda Pi Chi,” she added.
Sandra Guzman, whose credentials
include Emmy award-winning television producer at Telemundo, author of the
critically acclaimed books The Latina’s
Bible (2002) & The New Latina’s Bible (2011), former editor-in-chief of Latina magazine, and founder of a
bilingual website for Latinas called soloella.com,
is no stranger to the organization and its mission.

empowerment through education are powerful tools for healthy communities; and
the dedication that each of the sisters have to these lofty ideals is admirable

commitment to each other and the Latino community," said Sandra Guzman, who also recounts her
first experience with Lambda Pi Chi several years ago in the original
critically acclaimed self-help book The
Latina’s Bible (2002).
The 2011 National Convention will have the theme of "Hermandad: No
Limits, No Boundaries, All Action," which
will tie together the organization’s motto, along with its mission, vision and
goals. The theme is designed to give members the tools necessary to go into
their communities and serve as agents of change, while empowering themselves to
be active in their college campus, work place and home. This year’s convention and theme will also
honor Lambda Pi Chi’s founders’ vision of establishing an organization that
went far beyond the college undergraduate experience.
