On April 24, 2010 our Hermana Quisaira Almanzar Whitney of our Alpha Chapter at Cornell University, served as the Keynote speaker for the 4th Annual National Dominican Student Conference (NDSC) hosted at Cornell University by Quisqueya: the Dominican Students Association. Quisqueya, which was founded in 1995, was created with the intentions of spreading awareness concerning the Dominican experience and culture.
The conference sought to bring together all students, from the undergraduate and graduate arenas that identify with the Dominican Heritage throughout the United States. The NDSC was founded at Yale University in 2007 with hopes of building social and academic support networks among Dominican students.
Quisaira’s "success as a Latina Cornell Alum assured Quisqueya that [she] would be a fantastic addition to the 4th National Dominican Student Conference. … [we were] certain that [she] would be able to connect to the conference participants on both a cultural and academic level.”
