New York, NY – In response to the disastrous earthquake that has afflicted Haiti just a short week ago, Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority Inc. (Lambda Pi Chi) has partnered with Oxfam America to collect funds to aid the Republic of Haiti. Lambda Pi Chi's national leadership hopes to surpass a fundraising goal of $2,000 by February 28th and encourages all of its chapters to hold events that will raise funds to help attain monetary donations to aid the country in this historic catastrophe. "With many of our Hermanas directly affected by this tragedy, the National Executive Board looked to its members to find an organization to partner with. We are committing our current efforts and resources to sending relief to Haiti and we hope many will join us in this endeavor,” says Maria L. Diaz, National President of Lambda Pi Chi.
