Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. Appears On "LatiNation"

New York City, NY

February 8, 2008

Members of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad / Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. (“Lambda Pi Chi”) appear in a special segment on Latino Sororities and Fraternities featured in the current episode of LatiNation, a nationally syndicated television show from the LATV Network. Other Latino organizations featured in this segment are: Omega Phi Chi Sorority, Inc., Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity Inc., Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha Inc. and Gamma Phi Sigma "Hermanos Unidos" Fraternity, Inc. The episode will air this week until February 10th, 2008.

According to Jennifer Pons, Senior Producer of the series, in this specific segment “LatiNation turns the spotlight on the growing presence of Latino sororities and fraternities on college campuses across the country.” “This episode is a wonderful opportunity for others to learn about Latino Greek life, and its many facets. Latino Greek life is rapidly growing throughout the nation, and we are proud to be part of that movement,” says Quisaira A. Whitney, National President for Lambda Pi Chi.

LATV and LatiNation are well-known for their furtherance of U.S. Latino culture and their attentiveness to the Latino community – characteristics that closely align the network with two of Lambda Pi Chi’s ideals: La Cultura Latina and La Comunidad. For the last twenty years, Lambda Pi Chi has worked to promote Latino culture and to elevate the Latino community through programming and public service. “We are honored that our Sorority will be associated with such a positive influence in the Latino community,” says Cassandra D. Oshinnaiye, Vice President of Philanthropy for Lambda Pi Chi.
