History
On November 23, 1996, Epsilon Chapter was founded by five determined women. These women made a commitment to continue to uphold and promote the ideals of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. by establishing the sorority as a vehicle for unity amongst all women of color at Georgetown and American Universities. The establishment of Epsilon Chapter brought the sorority from a state-based organization to the national level.
The Chapter Founders also sought to continue promoting academic excellence and networking opportunities that would assist women in achieving their academic goals, while enlightening the DC and collegiate community about the myriad of social, cultural and political views that affect many of our communities. Las Hermanas of Epsilon Chapter find ways to promote these ideals by taking on everyday issues affecting our society.
